Application Support Engineer

A global industry-leading Vendor is working with Harrington Starr to find an Application Support Engineer to work in their office in the City.

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing hands-on support for Electronic trading systems in a role that will cover application support, system monitoring, problem escalation, level 2/3 database support and the deployment of releases to test and production systems. You will be deploying and supporting complex in-house and 3rd party applications and interacting with various internal IT support functions including development, quality assurance, operations and external 3rd party vendors to troubleshoot and resolve problems.

To be considered applicants must have:

  • Excellent experience and knowledge of real time trading systems in imperative
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows Server and workstation
  • Good knowledge of Networking elements
  • Strong scripting skills, such as Perl, Bash, Python
  • A solid understanding of infrastructure and server components
  • Good understanding of SQL Server
  • Knowledge around C++, Java, .NET or Visual Basic technologies is very beneficial
  • Applicants must also be able to work a shift patterns - (Between 06:30 - 18:30)

The core responsibilities for this Data Analyst are as follows:

  • Ensuring that appropriate technology is instrumented for analytics. These include access to current systems and extracting and also consuming data sets provided.
