Your role
You will be responsible for cloud native development, collaborating with software and operational teams in the creation and ongoing management of cloud services. While we work predominantly with the Microsoft stack you will be adaptable and experienced enough to work with a variety of technologies. A natural communicator and collaborator you will be at ease sharing your expertise on an individual and group forum.

Responsibilities
  • Management and delivery of software making appropriate use of emerging technologies and helping transform the development team to use cloud native design approaches and services.
  • Management of the Azure environment for appropriate applications, ensuring systems are monitored, maintained and supported.
  • Line management of a small team of engineers.
  • Accountable for maintaining systems to required SLAs, prioritizing maintenance windows and releases, liaising with the wider Deloitte team to implement global standards and security controls.
  • Contributes and adheres to development standards and controls across the UK firm.
  • Recommend improvements and refactoring to systems enhancing; stability, security and maintainability.
  • Managing and prioritizing team workload and delegating activities via daily SCRUM meetings
  • Advising stakeholders on the implications of alternative solutions. Work within a product centric environment to deliver capability within set timescales and measured against given milestones
  • Participate in all aspects of the project software development life cycle including; solution design, business analysis, testing, documentation and deployment.
  • â€?Build it and own it” â€" this team will operate a true dev-ops lifecycle with responsibility for new features through development and into production.

Your professional experience
  • Demonstrable experience of running cloud native applications with the ability to plan and manage the technology lifecycle as well as the technical acumen to develop and maintain a heterogeneous technology stack.

  • Will have worked within an application maintenance team.
  • Experience of secure coding practices, tools and guidance such as OWASP.

  • You’ll be jumping into to an early stage product and take ownership of the code. You’ll be responsible for the system’s architecture and building solutions to business-critical problems

Our Opportunity

Essential Skills

  • Extensive PHP experience.
  • Significant exposure to modern MVC frameworks is essential, e.g. Symfony 4+, Zend, Laravel.
  • Conform to coding standards (PSR1/2) and participate in code reviews.
  • Knowledge of Object Orientated PHP and MVC.
  • Experience using Git for version control.
  • Development in a Linux environment.

Our Opportunity

We've got a big and exciting project to hit this year and we need developers to help us make it happen. We are looking for developers to contribute to all aspects of ongoing software development, based at our brilliant Tech hub in Leeds. You'll be involved in the whole lifecycle - specification, development, testing and the launching of new code & functionality.

Main responsibilities for this role;

  • You will be writing and overseeing the production of high-quality source code
  • You'll be collaborating with our team to set specifications for new applications
  • You'll be performing unit and integration testing - as well as troubleshooting and debugging applications
  • You'll evaluate existing applications to reprogram, update and add new features
  • You'll develop technical documents and handbooks to accurately represent application design and code

We are looking for an experienced AWS Engineer to join a growing infrastructure team based in Manchester. You would be joining one of the largest providers of investment platforms and online stockbroker services across the Country.

With a competitive salary (DOE) with an excellent package including a bonus! This role will be based out of their modern offices in Manchester where you will be the AWS expert for this site and responsible for helping to deliver continuous improvement within the infrastructure function.

With the company and Tech department going through huge growth, and new AWS transformation projects lined up, this role will give you the exposure and opportunity to play a vital role in the companies cloud journey.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the design, maintenance & management of our AWS hosted infrastructure
  • Work alongside the Development, UAT and production teams and environments.
  • Support and provide a resilient, scalable & secure platform
  • Support across BAU and projects
  • Third line incident and service request resolutions
  • Provide internal guidance & support to your infrastructure colleagues regarding AWS

Skills & Experience

  • Extensive AWS expertise (ideally within the financial sector)
  • AWS capacity & performance logging & monitoring solutions
  • Understanding of containerisation (Docket, AWS ECS etc)
  • Ability to confidently bring ideas to the table and present effective solutions
