Your new role
They are seeking skilled and experienced PHP Developers to join their existing friendly and fast-paced team. Your role will include maintaining and developing back-end systems for the entire solution, involving everything from integrations with new partners to updating back-end functionality to support the team.

They are looking for someone with a varied range of skills and either an understanding of or previous experience with providing custom development, eCommerce or stock systems, along with knowledge of selling online. Ideally, you'll be a good problem solver, have an eye for detail and possess good time management and communication skills.

To success in this role, you will be skilled in the following:

  • PHP
  • MySQL & NoSQL databases
  • MVC framework experience (they use a custom built in-house framework based on popular frameworks such as CakePHP)
  • JavaScript & jQuery
  • HTML/CSS
  • RESTful API
  • Testing at multiple levels

Other desirable skills/knowledge include:

  • A keen interest in software development and best practices
  • Experience in architecting complex solutions
  • RabbitMQ
  • Couchbase
  • Redis
  • Solr
  • MongoDB
  • Nginx
  • Caching technologies

You will join a small, but business critical Data team. The team consists of staff who have been with the business for many years (the position is adding extra headcount) You'll support in BAU activities for the existing data warehouse system alongside helping to build and migrate new internal systems to support vital work for the wider business. You'll also monitor daily data activity and monitor the quality of the data itself and wider data strategy.

What you'll need to succeed
You'll have a passion for data, enjoy working out new efficient ways of working and comfortable in talking to senior figures in the business to drive forward data innovation. You'll have good working knowledge within the MS BI stack alongside T-SQL. Any C#/Python experience would be beneficial.
